Helping animals has been a multi-generation family tradition. For as long as Danijela could remember, she was surrounded by animals her grandparents and parents had saved from the streets.
One of the first kittens Danijela saved was a dying kitten she found at the dumpster near her shoe shop (before she opened her souvenir shop). She brought the wet kitten to her shop but things were not looking good, so she borrowed a hairdryer from a neighboring salon. Kitty lived, and Danijela was unstoppable from then on!
Her beloved mother, sister, and a network of kind friends and extended family helped Danijela treat, feed, and find homes for the cats and dogs she rescued. She spayed and neutered them whenever financially possible. Those that wouldn’t have survived on the streets were taken in to be nursed back to health, and some never left.
Since cats know which humans will help them, they always manage to find Danijela. Over the past few decades, Danijela, her mom, and her sister have been made grandmothers and great grandmothers thousands of times. Her mother interviewed adoptive humans to make sure the kittens were going to good homes. There must have been thousands of kitties greeting Danijela’s mother when she arrived in Heaven in 2019.
